How we began

Through a shared love of music and capturing sound, Sunroom was founded by musician and visual artist Michael White (Invisible Friend) and audio engineer and musician Steve Law (Hearing Images) in 2006. The Sunroom has grown over the years, and offers a picturesque, creative and comfortable space to create.

Philosophy

Our influences are as wide and varied as yours are. The Sunroom control room and recording space is influenced and geared for a time when bands played and recorded together, live in the room - but is no way limited to it.
Analogue tape recording is preferred and we can record straight to digital too.

Reviews.

Zeahorse - Pools (Full length album)

"At nine tracks in length, this formidable effort by Zeahorse is all killer and no filler. It burns with an intensity that lulls you to a comforted state one moment and suddenly hurls you into a cyclone of distortion and angst, before settling you down slowly once again".

"...this album has a very live sound, which it seems they’ve managed to achieve by recording live to tape. ..These tracks were recorded by Steve Law at Sunroom Studios, with the band all camping out in the backyard for the entire six days that Pools took to make. It’s all very old-school, and man, it really works".

" ...the greatest part still remains that AWESOME middle 8, the noise, THE POWER! Sounds like it could have been produced by Steve Albini (God) himself."

Who's This - Entropy (EP)

"First off the production is stellar. The drums sounds distinct and refined in their low end, the bass sounds powerful and full, the guitars are full and occupy a lot of the mid-range while the vocal sits in the mix instead of on top of it".
